On May 26, 2026, CVTA was pleased to be part of the team supporting the symposium “Canada-ASEAN Security Alignment: The Case for Building Collective Resilience,” held at the University of Ottawa.

The event brought together distinguished representatives from the Government of Canada, diplomatic missions, academia, policy institutions, and think tanks across the Indo-Pacific region to discuss the evolving geopolitical, economic, and security landscape between Canada and ASEAN.

As an organization committed to strengthening international technology cooperation and supporting the Vietnamese and broader Indo-Pacific professional community in Canada, CVTA recognizes that modern regional resilience is increasingly connected to digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and trusted technology partnerships.

The symposium provided an important platform to explore how Canada and ASEAN partners can work together to build stronger collective resilience, deepen strategic alignment, and identify new opportunities for collaboration across security, innovation, business, and technology.

For CVTA, the discussion also highlighted the growing role of technology communities and professional networks in advancing practical cooperation. Areas such as cybersecurity, AI governance, digital transformation, critical infrastructure protection, and cross-border innovation will continue to play a vital role in strengthening economic security and long-term regional resilience.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all distinguished speakers, organizers, co-organizers, sponsors, and participants who contributed to this meaningful dialogue, including the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, and the ASEAN Committee in Ottawa.

CVTA looks forward to continuing its work in promoting technology cooperation, strategic partnerships, and stronger connections between Canada, Vietnam, ASEAN, and the wider Indo-Pacific region.
